biography

Dan was introduced to the House Music scene in 1995 through a friend who brought tapes back from Ibiza Over the next few years frequent trips to London clubs including most notably 'Peach' @ Camden Palace in London UK ensured he became addicted to the then booming 'Trance' scene with tracks like Paul Van Dyks For An Angel making him sit up and take notice of what dance music was all about! In 1998 Dan decided to try the 'DJ' thing for himself ... From the moment I handled my first piece of vinyl I knew it was going to be a healthy but expensive relationship! The bedroom DJ was soon born and it wasn't long before he was sharing his enthusiasm with others by promoting/DJing a monthly House/Trance night called Addiction in his local area Southend-on-Sea Essex UK. Having been away from the UK for a while, Dan returned in December 2001, and promised himself that he would do his best to carve a career in DJing and since being back he has been doing just that. His hard work has certainly paid off and following his first significant break at Turnmills in London where a demo tape caught the ears of Gavyn Mytchel (Turnmills resident DJ & promoter) he has played endlessly around London and the UK including many dates abroad in countries such as Spain, Norway, Sweden and India. A high point in Dans career to date was in May 2002 when he entered a CD into British dance music based magazine 'Muzik's search for a new Cream Resident the legendary UK club whos past residents include Paul Oakenfold & Seb Fontaine. The competition was also in association with music giants Sony ensuring plenty of media coverage along the way. Dan made it through to the final after winning various heats that were judged by industry moguls including DJs Steve Lawler & Lottie. In the final 10 DJ's out of 1500+ original entries he was given the opportunity to play at Nation (Cream) in Liverpool! Unfortunately Dan was not the eventual winner, but the experience was amazing and taught him a lot, and this has since proved the main platform for securing some great gigs around the world Over the past 5 years Dan has been invited to play at some of the UKs greatest clubs including Main Room dates at Turnmills (on 15 occasions in the past 3 years), Ministry of Sound, Pacha London, The Cross, The End and many more. In November 2003 and August 2006 in association with Ovenready Productions and Laughing Buddha Records Dan Toured India playing clubs in Bangalore and Chennai. Dan also successfully promotes and DJs at a few of his own nights Lets Connect and Futures Bright. He is co-promoter together with Norman H (Stripped Label Management) of one of Londons best underground nights called STRIPPED which features guests such as James Zabiela, Desyn Masiello, Paolo Mojo, James Holden, Jo Mills, Luke Fair, Phil Thompson, Lexicon Avenue, Jonathan Lisle on a regular basis. As well as the names above, Dan has played alongside some of dance musics great names including Paul Oakenfold (warmed up for on 2 occasions), Nick Warren, Sander Klienenberg, Pete Tong, Tall Paul, Judge Jules, Ferry Corsten, Boy George, Marshall Jefferson, Nic Fanciulli, Pete Gooding, Mike Monday, Demi, Harry Choo Choo Romero. Dan has previously played for promotions such as The Gallery, Global Undergound, Renaissance, Saturday Sessions @ MoS, Playtime, In Session with and many more. Alongside his DJing, Dan has recently taken his first steps into the studio and hopes to produce/collaborate on a few underground-related dance tracks further into the year Watch this space!
